...explore your interests! It's okay if you change your major, take some gen ed's your first year in case if you find something else that really calls to you. At the least, join as many clubs as you can. They look great on a resume, keep you from getting bored, and it's a fool proof way to make friends across campus.
...engineering explorations. These were two single credit courses that all engineers take in the spring semester of your first year. It allows you to explore different branches of engineering in order to find something you're really interested in and want to pursue as a career. You choose two: ceramics, bio materials, mechanical, renewable, glass and materials. Feel free to message me, I will answer any questions you might have!
...the observatory. I love the stars and space in general. Friday nights the observatory is open to anyone to view the stars for free, and any other night you can always go outside with a blanket. The area is away from all the extra lights on campus, it's a spectacular view!
...the environment, in every sense. The rural, woodland setting has always been a part of my life and I would not feel the same without it. Also, the friendly environment created by such a close knit community makes a very welcoming and inclusive feeling. I always feel like I belong.
